Summer Reading 2012

Welcome to Carver Middle School’s Summer Reading Page! We are excited you are here and are reading during the summer. All reading is self-selected.  Some suggestions are listed further down this page.

Follow these steps to get started…

  • Join Edmodo at www.chesterfield.edmodo.com using the activation codes provided to you at the summer reading orientation Mrs. Floyd did with you in the classrooms before summer break. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO HAVE AN E-MAIL ADDRESS TO SIGN UP FOR EDMODO.  If you forget this activation code, check the library page on Edline or call the school at (804)-524-3620.
  • Read your first book, and take the quiz for Book 1 in the space provided.
  • Read your next book, and log on to take the quiz for Book 2.
  • Continue to read as many books as possible, but there are only five quizzes available on the page. If you read more than five books, you may make a list or these additional books on your own paper.

That’s it!  Mrs. Floyd and Mrs. Stargardt will be monitoring the Edmodo page throughout the summer.  In the fall, those who participate in summer reading and read at least three books will be invited to an “Own the Night” celebration!

The Library will be open these days and times throughout the summer for checkout and AR quizzes.  Any quiz taken after July 1 will be counted on the first nine weeks of the new school year.

Hours of operation each day are 8:30 A.M.-12:30 P.M.  NOTE: THIS IS A CHANGE!

  • Tuesday, July 10
  • Thursday, July 12
  • Thursday, July 19
  • Thursday, July 26
  • Thursday, August 2
  • Thursday, August 9
